Your moral values & ability to rationalize

About This Quote

Your moral values & ability to rationalize This is a quote I’ve heard many times. Maybe it’s because I’m an atheist, but the idea that morality is something that should be based on religion bothers me. Religion is about belief, not necessarily about morality. You can believe in God, but not necessarily follow his teachings.

You can believe that killing animals for food is wrong, but still eat meat. There are many things in life where our morals differ from person to person, and I’m not talking about simple things like smoking or drinking alcohol. I’m talking about the big issues in life like abortion or whether or not people should have equal rights.

People can live together in peace, even if their views are very different, if they agree to disagree.
